I know how this sounds.
A maternity dress. For someone who is not pregnant. Who has never been pregnant. Who lives alone with a cat who thinks laptop keyboards are beds.
But let me explain.
I was looking for a cheap summer dress. Something easy. Something I could throw on when I didn't want to think. My budget was $50 because I had just spent too much on takeout and a very unnecessary candle.
I found this wrap dress on ASOS. Dark green. Short sleeves. Under $40. Looked good in the photos.
I did not read the description carefully.
It arrived. I pulled it out of the bag. Saw the word "maternity" on the tag inside. Almost sent it back right there.
But I was already in my room. Already holding it. So I tried it on.
And honestly?
It fit better than almost any regular plus size dress I own.

The fabric is stretchy but not thin. Not the kind that shows every bump and fold. It's thick enough to hold you in without squeezing.
The wrap part closes higher than most regular wrap dresses. You know the problem — you bend over and suddenly everyone knows what bra you're wearing. This one stays closed. I tested it. I bent down to pick up my cat. I reached for something on a high shelf. No flashes.

The shoulders are a little loose on me. Not in a bad way — more like a slightly borrowed shirt way. But if you have narrow shoulders, it might slip down.
Also, the waist tie is long. Really long. I wrap it twice. Some people might find that annoying.
